Fandrop

FAQ

Your privacy matters to us. Below you'll find answers about how check-in works, why we need your location (only to verify you're at the event), and how to troubleshoot any issues.

What is Fandrop?

Fandrop is an event check-in platform that allows you to participate in exclusive experiences at venues and events. Check in at participating locations to unlock special content and rewards.

How do I check in at an event?

You have two options:

  • Check in with Location - Allow your browser to access your location for automatic check-in.
  • Find a Fandrop code - Scan a QR code displayed at the venue using your phone's camera app.

Important: No app download is required - just use your regular camera app!
Tip: If you have trouble finding a code, try asking venue staff.

Why does Fandrop ask for my location?

We use your location solely to verify that you're physically present at the event venue. This ensures that only attendees at the actual event can participate in location-specific experiences and rewards.

Do you track or store my location data?

No. We are passionate about your privacy. Your location is only used in the moment to verify you're at the event - we don't store it, track your movements, or use it for any other purpose.

What does "Enable precise location if prompted" mean?

Some devices offer both approximate and precise location options. Precise location helps us confirm you're at the venue more accurately, but approximate location usually works fine too. If check-in fails with approximate location, try enabling precise location in your device settings.

What if I don't want to share my location?

No problem! You can always use the Find a Fandrop code option instead.

Look for QR codes with the Fandrop logo displayed in prominent, high-traffic locations around the venue and scan them with your phone's camera app. No app download required. Just scan and go.

I accidentally denied location access. How do I fix it?

The steps vary by device and browser:

iPhone (Any browser):

  • Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Browser App (Safari, Chrome, Firefox ...)
  • Select "Allow Once"
  • Turn on "Precise Location" (this can help solve "Not In Range" issue).
We only use your location once to verify you're at the event. It is never stored.
  • Return to Fandrop and try again

Android (Any browser):

Android location permissions work on two levels, and you may need to check both.

In your browser:

  • Open your browser (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Firefox, etc.)
  • Tap the menu (three dots or lines)
  • Go to Settings → Site settings (or Site permissions) → Location
  • Make sure location is set to "Ask"
  • You may also need to tap the lock/info icon next to the website address and adjust permissions there

In your phone's system settings:

  • Go to Settings → Apps → [Your browser name] → Permissions → Location
  • Select "Only this time"
  • Turn on "Precise Location" (this can help solve "Not In Range" issue).
We only use your location once to verify you're at the event. It is never stored.
  • Return to Fandrop and try again

Note: Settings paths can vary depending on your Android version and device manufacturer. If you can't find these exact options, look for similar menu items like "Permissions," "Site settings," or "Privacy."

I'm at the event but getting "Not In Range"

This can happen for a few reasons:

  • Your device's location may not be precise enough
  • You might be at the edge of the check-in zone
  • Location services might not have an accurate reading yet

Solutions:

  • Try moving to a different area of the venue
  • Make sure location services are enabled and set to "precise" or "high accuracy"
  • Use the Find a Fandrop code option instead - look for QR codes around the venue

Where can I find Fandrop QR codes at the venue?

Look for QR codes in prominent, high-traffic locations such as entrance areas, main lobbies or concourses, near concession stands, information desks, restroom hallways. They often have the Fandrop logo in the center.

Tip: If you have trouble finding a code, try asking venue staff.
